📍Fayetteville, West Virginia

At LivFree Fest, we distributed Narcan kits to festivalgoers and staff as a direct part of our harm reduction outreach. Large gatherings like this present a great opportunity enabling bystanders, friends, and staff to respond rapidly in the event of an overdose.

West Virginia continues to face one of the nation’s most persistent overdose crises. In 2023, the state recorded 1,453 overdose deaths, one of the highest per-capita rates in the country.

Encouragingly, state data showed a 38% decline in overdose fatalities through late 2024, reflecting the impact of expanded access to naloxone, community outreach, and treatment resources. Still, fentanyl remains a factor in over 70% of overdose deaths, underscoring the ongoing need for awareness, compassion, and prevention.

Together we were able to distribute:
✨ 300 Overdose Reversal Medication Kits
✨ 150 Xylazine Test Strips
✨  200 Fentanyl Test Strips

Thank you to Zachary, Erin, Bailey and Nick for volunteering your time.
